Release Pharmacist - (18 month FTC)

We are seeking a Release Pharmacist to join our Quality Assurance department on an 18-month fixed term contract. As a Release Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our extemporaneously compounded specials and specials batch products meet the highest standards of quality and comply with MHRA regulations and customer requirements.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Assess products through physical inspection, review of manufacturing records and Quality Control data
Review customer orders to confirm the appropriateness of supply and acceptability of dosage, formulation, and route of administration
Produce a Certificate of Conformance for batch and extemporaneously compounded products
Review and approval of new specials formulations to confirm these are appropriate
Work closely with production management to resolve issues
Update and approve information on new/existing products and raw materials on computer systems

To be successful in this role, you should have:

A degree in pharmacy and current registration as a Pharmacist with the GPhC (desirable)
Good understanding of the Home Office regulations for Controlled drugs
Experience in Line Management
Good communication skills
An awareness of Good Manufacturing Practices and MHRA guidance for Specials (Guidance Note 14) would be an advantage
Experience in reviewing and approving formulations
Ability to work effectively within a team
